Seppo Honkapohja appointed to the Bank of Finland's Board
Seppo Honkapohja is Professor of International Macroeconomics at the
University of Cambridge. He received his doctorate from the University of
Helsinki in 1979.
A Fellow of the Econometric Society and the European
European Economic Association, he has served as Scientific Director of the
Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation, as Professor of Economics in Turku Business School
and in the University of Helsinki, and as Research Professor in the Academy
of Finland. He was a member of the Finnish Expert Commission on EMU in 1997.
His research focuses on macroeconomics, especially the modelling of learning
and expectations, bounded rationality and their implications for monetary
and fiscal policy.
