Emmanuel Saez receives Clark Medal
Emmanuel Saez has been awarded the John Bates Clark Medal for 2009 by the American Economic Association. The medal is awarded to the American economist under the age of forty who is judged to have made the most significant contribution to economic thought and knowledge.
Saez is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his B.A. from the Ecole Normale Superieure in 1994 and his Ph.D. from MIT in 1999. He was appointed as a CEPR Research Affiliate in 2001, and is currently Co-Director of the Centre's Public Policy Programme.
